Wrote off underlay staple guns for 6 years, then a guy in Fresno changed my mind in 20 minutes
I always figured a knee kicker and a good hand stapler got the job done, so why bother. Last month I watched a guy named Ray lay 40 yards of berber in a rental over on Cedar Ave using a pneumatic gun, and he was done before lunch with zero pulled rows. Now I'm thinking about buying one, what psi do you all run on 8 pound pad?
Six years of fighting a knee kicker when a $400 gun woulda had you done by 10am. That Fresno guy probably went home and took a nap while you were still on your knees pulling rows. Happens to everybody though, we all got that one tool we swore off till somebody showed us up. Anyway, 90 psi is where I'd start on 8 pound pad, bump it a hair if the staples aren't sinking flush. Just don't get cocky and shoot your thumb, the gun won't care how long you been laying carpet.
