A stair installation win has me torn between glue and tack strips.
There's always been a split among us on how to best secure carpet on stairs. One side says adhesive gives a cleaner hold and looks better. The other side insists tack strips are safer and make future repairs easier. I just finished a job with some tricky winder stairs, and I used adhesive for the first time in a while. It went down perfectly with no wrinkles, and the customer was thrilled. This small success has me second-guessing my usual choice. What do you all think is the better method for stairs?

I always swore by tack strips for easy replacement, but a recent job with bullnose steps made me try adhesive. The glue gave such a tight, seamless fit on the curves that I couldn't argue with the results! Now I'm convinced adhesive is the way to go for any stair with weird angles or tight turns.

Glue's the best for curves.
