Lost $150 on a cheap biscuit joiner kit from Amazon

Bought one of those no-name biscuit joiners for $150. Sounded like a deal. First job? It jammed on the third cut. Then the blade wobbled. Tried to fix it myself, stripped a screw. Trash now. Anyone else get burned by cheap tools from the big online stores?

That blade wobble is the real killer, once they're out of balance there's no coming back from it.

You ever try to re-balance one of those with a vise and a torch, or is it just a lost cause once it starts? I've seen guys swear by shimming the housing but that feels sketchy long-term.
