Just realized those magnetic wristbands for holding nails actually work
I saw one at the hardware store for $15 and figured it was a gimmick, but after dropping a box of 3-inch screws off a ladder in Portland, I gave it a shot. It's surprisingly strong and keeps everything right where you need it, saving a ton of time on repetitive tasks. Do you guys have any other simple gear hacks that seemed silly but turned out to be legit?

Oh man, I feel that. I was the same way with those headband flashlights. Thought it was the dorkiest thing ever until I was trying to hold a phone light in my mouth while fixing a sink pipe. Now I look like a total dork, but at least I can see what I'm doing.
