Had a brutal week of trim work in this humid weather

Honestly, last Monday I was cutting some poplar baseboard for a house in Savannah and the humidity made everything swell up before I could even install it. By Thursday I had to re-cut half the pieces because they were binding in the corners and I was losing my mind. Does anyone else fight with material expansion this bad or do I just need to switch to MDF for summer jobs?

You used to hear that advice all the time and I admit I brushed it off for years. Figured if I bought my lumber a day early and stacked it in the garage that was close enough. Then last summer I had a job where the wood was delivered and sat in a dry basement for four days before I started cutting, and everything fit perfect. That was the moment I realized the guys at the lumber yard actually knew what they were talking about. Now I try to plan my schedule so the wood has at least two or three days to settle in the space before I touch it.

Didnt some guy at a lumber yard say to let the wood acclimate longer before cutting?
