My worst Monday ever turned into a lesson about asking for help

Last month I had a brutal day at the IT desk where three different systems crashed before 10am and my boss kept asking for updates every 15 minutes. I spent four hours trying to fix a printer queue issue that turned out to be a simple driver update, and I felt like I was failing at everything. Finally around 2pm I admitted to a coworker that I was drowning, and he showed me a script that automated half the diagnosis work in like ten minutes. That day taught me that pretending to have it together just makes the day longer and worse for everyone. Has anyone else had a moment where swallowing your pride completely changed how you work?
