Spent $180 on a car cover that scratched my paint in 2 months
Bought a cheap "all weather" cover off a marketplace ad back in January for my Mustang since I do not have a garage. It sat outside in the rain and wind for two months and when I pulled it off last weekend there were swirl marks and light scratches all over the hood and roof. The inside lining had basically turned into sandpaper, must have trapped dirt and just ground it in every time the wind blew. Took it to a detailer in Sacramento and he quoted me $400 to buff the whole car out. So that $180 cover actually cost me $580 total, plus the weekend I wasted thinking I was protecting my paint. The straps also rubbed the mirrors raw. What do you all actually use for long term outdoor storage that will not wreck the finish?
