The week our demo day pivot fell apart in Calgary

We were set to present at a Calgary investor meetup last month, 40 people confirmed. On Tuesday, our lead dev quit and took the repo password with him, so I spent 48 hours rebuilding the prototype with a co-op student from SAIT. The pitch still landed, but we lost the follow-up meeting because the mock data looked fake. Anyone else have a core team member bail right before a big deadline, and how did you recover without sounding desperate?
