Guy at a pitch night in Kitchener told me my startup idea was 'a feature, not a company,' and I can't stop thinking about it
Was at this meetup at the Tannery on Charles St. back in January, pitching my scheduling tool for trades businesses. This one investor, mid 50s, just nods the whole time, then tells me, "You've got a feature, not a company." I've been working on it for 14 months and have 9 paying shops, so I don't think he's totally right, but it's been bugging me for weeks. How do you actually tell the difference between a small real business and just a feature waiting to get copied by Jobber?
