Spent a weekend at Shenandoah and figured out why my tent kept getting wet inside
I camped at Big Meadows campground last Saturday night. It was damp and in the morning my sleeping bag was soaked from condensation. I always blamed the tent but this time I noticed I had pitched it under a tree with low branches blocking airflow. After talking to the guy at the campsite next to me, he pointed out my rainfly was too tight against the mesh. I loosened it up on night two and woke up bone dry. Has anyone else dealt with condensation problems that turned out to be a setup issue?

Three nights at Big Meadows and my tent was damp every morning no matter what I did with the rainfly. I seriously doubt loosening the fly is going to fix condensation if the ground is soggy and the air is heavy with humidity like it always is there. Maybe you just got lucky with the weather on night two...
