Baking bread camping? This gear won me over.
I believed camp ovens were just extra stuff to carry. On a recent trip, a buddy had a small one. We prepared simple dough and baked it over coals. The result was golden, tasty bread. It felt like a real treat in the woods. Now I see the appeal of camp baking. That oven is now on my wish list.

My first try was on a trip to the Boundary Waters. We had a little camp oven and mixed up some dough from a box. Watching it rise over the fire was so cool. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft inside. It made our canned soup dinner feel like a feast. I'm totally sold on camp baking now.
