PSA: My last backpacking trip had me missing paper maps
Recently went backpacking in the mountains. Everyone was using GPS on their phones to navigate. I remembered when my dad and I used folded paper maps and a compass. It felt more connected to the land back then. Now, I keep a paper map in my pack just in case.

Oh and let's be real, half those people with their phones out are just trying to get a bar so they can post a pic. Nothing like watching someone spin in circles holding their phone to the sky while you just unfold a map. I keep one too, mostly so I can dramatically sigh and unfold it when my phone dies. What's your go-to map brand?
