Dropped $180 on a cheap tone generator and it found a break I'd chased for 3 days
I was running a 12 unit job in a building off Fremont in Seattle and one line kept reading open no matter what I did. I'd already gone through two cheap testers and a whole Saturday, so I finally spent $180 on a decent tone and probe kit. Ten minutes later it beeped right at a staple some other crew shot through the cable behind a finished wall. Should've bought the good one on day one instead of guessing. What's your go to tool that stings at the register but pays for itself on the first bad run?
