Went to a restored mill in Vermont and noticed all the original joinery was still tight after 150 years
Stopped at the Shelburne Museum last weekend and they had an old grist mill they moved there. The mortise and tenon joints on the frame were still snug. No glue, no metal fasteners. Just wood dried and shrunk together. Makes me wonder how much of what I build today will still be holding up in 2175. Anyone else ever go look at old structures for joinery ideas?

Remembered my last deck screws gave out right when @wesley_hart was showing off his new gazebo last summer.
