Showerthought: I swore by pocket screws for every joint until a drawer fell apart on me.

Now I'm way more careful about where I use them.

Yeah, I learned that lesson after a shelf I built collapsed. Guess we all get overconfident with our favorite tricks sometimes.

Totally get that, derek_johnson. I had a wall-mounted spice rack come down in a mess of oregano and broken glass. What finally worked for me was using way more wall anchors than I thought I needed, and checking them with a level at every single step. I don't trust my eye anymore, even for small projects. It's annoying but saves a bigger cleanup later.
