My $12 leather belt from a farm supply store in Abilene just hit its 14th year
I was cleaning out the closet last Saturday and found the receipt tucked in a shoebox, dated 2011, for a plain brown work belt I grabbed on a whim at a feed store outside Abilene. The buckle is scratched to hell and the leather has a dark shine on the tongue hole I actually use, but the stitching has never once come loose. I did the math and it works out to about 85 cents a year, which beats anything I have ever bought at a mall. Curious if anyone here has a basic leather belt that outlasted a tool or a pair of boots, and what you do to keep the leather from drying out in summer.
