Hot take: my $12 can opener outlasted every 'upgrade' I bought for 15 years
Bought a cheap swing away opener at a garage sale in Boise back in 2008 for $12, still pops cans open like day one. Meanwhile I burned through three fancy ones with padded grips and a 'lifetime' promise, each lasting about 18 months tops. Last week the hinge pin finally walked off while I was opening a can of tomatoes, so I just fished it out and tapped it back with a nail set. Now I'm wondering if I should even try to fix it right or just leave it. Has anyone got a can opener that actually survived 20 years of daily use?
