Watched a butter robot meme contest at my local comic shop last year and it got weird

There was this small event at Comic Kingdom in Portland where people showed off their best butter robot edits. One guy made a version where the robot was asking about the meaning of life but the text bubble was just a barcode. Another had it photoshopped into a therapist's office. The winner was this simple one where the robot just had a tiny monocle and top hat. It changed how I think about memes being more about the small details than big jokes. Has anyone else seen a meme contest where the simplest thing won?

Huh, that's actually pretty cool but I think you got the city wrong. I'm pretty sure Comic Kingdom is in Seattle, not Portland. I remember seeing that place when I visited a few years back.
