Hot take: I wrote my own butter bot quote on a sticky note and stuck it on my monitor, and it hit harder than any meme I've saved
Two weeks ago I taped a little yellow note to the corner of my screen that just says 'what is my purpose' and I look at it like 30 times a day now. Here is the weird part. I started making my own captions for butter bot edits instead of grabbing the popular ones and my friends said they liked mine more. One I made shows him staring at a microwave and the caption says 'you heat things' and he goes 'oh my god.' I posted 4 of them to our group chat and 3 got reused by people I do not even know. The premade memes are great but something about writing the tiny guy's sad little lines myself made me notice how much of my day is just waiting for instructions. Does anyone here make their own captions or do you mostly share the ones already out there?

Did writing the sad little lines yourself actually change how you think about your own day, or did it just make better memes? Like do you catch yourself noticing the "waiting for instructions" thing more now that you put it on paper?
