Vent: Hit 10,000 followers and the algorithm shoved me into a sea of cat videos

I finally crossed 10,000 followers on my woodworking page last Tuesday, and you know what popped up as the top recommendation on my feed right after? A video of a raccoon stealing a donut from a 7-Eleven in Tulsa. Not even a good donut, just a glazed one. I thought hitting that number would make my stuff show up for people who actually like sawdust, but instead I got grouped with every pet and fail channel out there. Has anyone else watched their niche get buried the second they hit a milestone?
