Why does nobody talk about leaving reviews for small tradesmen?
I used to only review restaurants and shops, but after a plumber in Boise fixed my leaking pipe in 20 minutes for $80, I started leaving reviews for every handyman I hire. It's been 5 months now, and two of those guys said my review brought them new customers, has anyone else seen that kind of direct impact?
Noticed the same thing with my barber. He rents a chair in a small shop with no sign out front. Hardly anyone knows he's there. I left him a review with his name and the cross streets and he said three new guys came in that month. Made me realize how much of daily life runs on word of mouth that never gets written down. We rate every burger and hotel but skip the people who actually fix our stuff. A plumber, a locksmith, the guy who patches your roof. Those are the reviews that change someone's week.
