Showerthought: That one 1-star review I got in 2019 taught me more than any 5-star ever did
A guy named Dave left a 1-star review for my little print shop in Akron back in 2019 that just said "waited 20 minutes, nobody said hi." I was mad for two days, then I counted and realized our front desk girl was taking lunch alone from 12 to 12:30 and nobody covered her. We started staggering lunches that Friday and now I read every review, even the ugly ones, looking for one real thing I can fix. Does anyone else have a bad review that actually helped their business?
That "nobody said hi" part stings because it sounds so small but it's not. People remember how a place made them feel way more than the product. Good on you for digging into it instead of just being mad. Most folks would've brushed it off as a Karen review and moved on. You turned a 20 minute wait into a real fix, that's a win.
