Left a 1-star review for a tire shop on Aurora Ave and the owner called me 20 minutes later
I got a flat on my way to work near 145th and pulled into a shop on Aurora Ave in north Seattle. They charged me $85 for a patch and I noticed on the receipt they also added a $12 "shop supply fee" that nobody mentioned to me. I wrote a 1-star review that night saying the work was fine but the surprise fee was shady. The owner called me 20 minutes later, not mad, just asked me to come back so he could show me the sign above the register. It was there, buried behind a stack of tires, and I had missed it. He refunded the $12 anyway and said most of his bad reviews come from that same sign. Here is my thing: a sign behind a tire stack is not disclosure, and I still think hiding fees is a real review red flag no matter how nice the guy is. Where do you draw the line between a business being honest and a customer not reading the wall?
