The $12 corn dog maker I laughed at, now I eat my words
I saw that little corn dog machine at a thrift shop in Tulsa for $12 and figured it was a joke. My buddy swore by his, said it cooks them perfect in 3 minutes flat, no oil splatter like the stove top. I tried it last Tuesday with some cheap frozen dogs and honestly, the batter came out crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, exactly like the fair. But here's the thing, my other friend thinks it's a single use gadget that just collects dust after a month. Am I wrong for thinking this beats the pan method, or is it just a phase before I go back to burning things in a skillet? Anyone else had a kitchen tool they mocked that turned out legit, or the reverse where a hyped gadget fell flat for you?

Wait, this thing actually made them taste like the fair? I figured those infomercial gadgets were just plastic junk that burns the batter.
