PSA: the fork trick for checking toast doneness actually saved my breakfast
I used to just eyeball my toast under the broiler and ended up scraping charcoal into the sink about twice a week. Last Sunday I stuck a fork in the middle of the bread to peek at the color before pulling it out, and it came out perfect on the first try. I was sure it was a dumb internet thing, but now I do it every single morning at my place in Dayton. Anyone got a better way to catch it right before it turns black?
