I thought my oven ran hot for 3 years, then my neighbor's $8 thermometer proved me wrong
I always blamed my oven for burning everything, set it 25 degrees lower every time, still got hockey pucks. My neighbor Denise brought over a cheap oven thermometer last Saturday and it turned out my oven actually runs 15 degrees COOL, so I was underbaking stuff and then cranking the broiler to fix it, which torched the tops. Three years of sad muffins and blackened casseroles because I never spent 8 bucks to check. Anyone else fix a "broken" appliance just by measuring it first?
