Finally tried the silicone mat trick on burnt cookie sheets
I kept burning cookie edges no matter what temperature I used, so last Tuesday I grabbed a cheap silicone mat from the Dollar General in Wichita. Total skeptic, figured it was just another gimmick like those copper pans. First batch of chocolate chip cookies came out even on top and bottom, no scorched bits. The middle still spread weird but that might be my dough being too warm. Has anyone else found that one little fix that solved a repeat kitchen disaster?
I was the same way about those mats for years, swore they were a scam after one bad batch. Then my sister in Topeka gave me hers and now I use it for every single tray of cookies. Honestly it fixed the burning way more than any pan swap ever did.
