Update: The guy at the laundromat who fixed my dryer vent theory with one sentence

Saw a handwritten note taped to the community board about dryer lint fires, and when I mentioned it to the old-timer folding his shirts, he just said "exhaust runs uphill if you let it" and now I check my vent every 3 months instead of never, has anyone else had a random stranger change how they do something small?

Oh man, so now I gotta add dryer vents to my list of random anxieties.

Just pull the vent off and clean it out once a year, it's way easier than most people make it.
