Unpopular opinion: that bulletin board at the laundromat is way more useful than any Nextdoor group
I was at Suds & Duds on Grand Avenue last Tuesday waiting for my wash and actually read the corkboard. There was a hand-written note from a guy offering to fix lawnmowers for $20, a flyer for a free cat spay clinic next weekend, and someone just asking for a ride to the pharmacy. Nextdoor is all porch pirate paranoia and people arguing about leaves. The real community is pinned to a board with pushpins. Has anyone else found actual help from a random corkboard instead of online?

and that ride request is the kind of stuff that actually matters. Nextdoor is just people posting blurry photos of a squirrel and asking if it looks suspicious.
