Spotted a bulletin board fact about my town's old water tower

I was checking the community board outside the library yesterday and saw a flyer for a local history walk. The small print said our water tower, the one by the park, was built in 1938 and holds 250,000 gallons. I've lived here my whole life and never knew that number. It just seemed like a big metal tank, but that's a lot of water. Makes you look at the old thing a little differently. Has anyone else found weird local history facts posted around town?

Saw a plaque by the old train station last week. Turns out it was a stop for some famous singer in the 50s. Totally changed how I see that rusty platform.

That's a crazy amount of water up there. Makes me wonder what would happen if it ever broke. @anthony989 finding that plaque is the same kind of surprise, like the whole town has secrets.
