Pro tip: the handwritten index card on a laundromat corkboard beat the printed flyer every time
Last Tuesday I stopped at the Spin City laundromat on Delmar Blvd in St. Louis and saw two ads side by side for house cleaning. The printed one had a logo, a price list, and a QR code, while the other was just a handwritten index card with a first name, a phone number, and the words "I show up when I say I will." I called the index card lady and she answered on the first ring, while the printed number went straight to a voicemail box that was full. Has anyone else noticed that the messiest looking bulletin board ads are usually the ones run by actual people who answer their phones?
