My trick for finding cheap event flyers on community boards finally paid off

I wanted to find some local art shows and flea markets that don't cost much to get into. I kept looking at the big cork boards at coffee shops but all the flyers were torn or faded. Then I noticed this one board at a laundromat on Elm Street that was packed with stuff nobody else seemed to look at. I started taking photos of every flyer I saw, even the ones that looked old or messy. Last week I found one that said "free pottery workshop" in sharpie on a ripped piece of paper. I went and it was a small group of local potters just hanging out and teaching people. Has anyone else found good stuff by checking the boards nobody bothers with?

Wait, a free pottery workshop from a ripped piece of paper with sharpie writing? That is wild. I always just walk past the messy ones thinking they're junk.

Read something similar in a newsletter about how the best underground events rely on word of mouth and hand-written signs. Those messy flyers are usually from people who don't care about looking fancy, just want to share something cool. Bet they get overlooked all the time.
