I mean, saying it's "just a journal cover" kinda misses the point though. People drop $40 on stuff all the time that isn't used every day, like a phone case or a wallet, and they still expect it to not fall apart in two weeks. Maybe it's just me but if I buy something and it breaks that fast, I'm gonna be annoyed no matter what the item is. It's not about it being a journal cover, it's about getting what you paid for and not having it disintegrate. Plus some people actually do write in their journals daily so it's not like it's just sitting on a shelf.

Two weeks? That's rough but also like...it's a journal cover. Not a wedding dress or a kitchen appliance you use every day. I spent like $8 on a basic leather one at a discount store three years ago and it's still fine. Maybe you just got a bad batch or the store didn't care about quality control. But I don't know, paying $40 for something that's supposed to hold a notebook feels like overkill to begin with. I'd be annoyed too, but I'd probably just move on and grab a cheap one from Target instead of making it a whole thing.
