Pro tip: Stop overcomplicating your monthly log with 47 different trackers
I joined a local bullet journal meetup last month and I swear half the people there were spending more time setting up habit trackers, mood graphs, and expense columns than actually writing anything down. I get it, I went through that phase too back in 2020 with a full page of color coded dots. But after a few months I realized I was just avoiding the stuff I actually needed to track. My vote goes to keeping the monthly log simple, maybe a habit or two, and using collections for the rest. Has anyone else found a minimalist approach actually works better for them, or am I missing something?

...and then they wonder why they burn out by February and the journal sits untouched for six months. I was that guy with the full page color coded dots too, except mine were for sleep hours and caffeine intake and I still ended up forgetting to fill in half the boxes by Wednesday. Now my monthly log is basically a calendar, a small to-do list, and one habit tracker that I actually keep up with. It's way less pretty but at least I'm not lying to myself about tracking my water intake.
