Had a 15 minute convo with my coworker about my bujo setup

She saw me setting up my weekly spread during lunch and asked why I bother with all the colors and boxes. Told me it looked more like art than a planner and wondered if I actually use it or just like the way it looks. Honestly hit different because she's right in a way - I spend more time decorating than actually tracking tasks some weeks. Has anyone else had someone call them out like that? Made me think about stripping things down.

My sister once told me my closet looked like a museum exhibit where none of the clothes were actually worn. She wasn't wrong. I had all these matching hangers and color coded sections but half the stuff still had tags on it. Kind of made me realize I was curating an idea of myself instead of just living. Same thing with your bujo maybe? Like you're building this perfect planner version of your week but not actually doing the stuff in it. Sometimes stripping things down to just the basics feels scary because then you actually have to face what you're avoiding.
