My brother called my budget 'aggressively boring' and I took it as a win
We were at a cookout last weekend and he asked what I'd been up to. I told him about my new plan to save for a new car by cutting out all my small daily buys, like coffee and snacks. He just stared at me and said, 'Man, that sounds aggressively boring.' It hit different because he's always broke and stressed about money, but acts like his life is more fun. I realized my 'boring' plan has already saved me about $80 a week, and I don't miss the stuff. The stress of not having a car fund was way worse than skipping a latte. Anyone else have a budget that someone else just didn't get?

Feel that so hard. My cousin said my meal prep was "depressing" while he was complaining about his credit card bill. Like @jordank52 said, calling debt "fun" is just coping. Your brother's comment says way more about his own money stress than your plan. That $80 a week adds up fast and the peace of mind is totally worth it.
