TIL a shady method for no-cost airport lounge visits

My buddy told me he gets into airport lounges without a ticket by flashing an expired boarding pass and acting like he belongs. I tried it last week and it worked, but I felt guilty the whole time. Is this a common hack, or am I crossing a line? What are some legit ways to save on airport amenities?

Delta Sky Club in Atlanta checks boarding passes closely now. You could get banned, so look into Priority Pass instead.
