The hostel owner in Cusco told me to skip the tourist bus and take the collectivo for 8 soles
Was in Cusco, Peru last month and the hostel owner, Rosa, said the 25 dollar tourist bus to Ollantaytambo was a waste. She walked me to the collectivo stand and I paid 8 soles, like 2 bucks, for the same ride in a van with locals. It left when the van filled up, not on a schedule, so I waited about 20 minutes. Anyone else had luck asking hostel staff for the local option instead of booking online?
