Met a guy in a Bangkok hostel who hadn't paid for a bed in 6 months
He was using a workaway app to trade 4 hours of cleaning for a free dorm bed at different hostels. Said he saved $900 in accommodation just by sweeping floors and changing sheets. Has anyone else tried that whole work-exchange thing to travel?
Is it really "making it work" if the whole thing could fall apart any second? I've seen setups like that where one small mistake means you're starting over from scratch, and that just seems like bad planning to me. You'd think someone would want a system that's a little more stable instead of just hoping for the best.
