A guy at the hostel in Lisbon told me to skip the metro and just walk everywhere to save cash.

I figured he was just being cheap and lazy so I bought a 3 day metro pass for like 15 euros. Turns out Lisbon is tiny and I could have walked to almost everything in like 20 minutes. The pass was a waste. Now I'm stuck using up these rides on the elevator thing just to get my money's worth. Has anyone else gotten burned by transit passes in walkable cities?

Those 3 days of unlimited elevator rides sound worth it to me.

Yeah but you gotta actually ride the elevators constantly to make it worth it... that's a lot of awkward standing around. I dunno if I could fill three whole days just going up and down. Plus you'd get sick of the lobby music real fast. It'd be a funny story to tell though, I'll give you that.
