I always figured dried beans were the only smart way to go and canned was just paying for water and salt. Then my neighbor pulled out last month's receipt and the canned ones came to 79 cents a can, which beat my dried beans once I added the gas for a 2 hour simmer. Does anyone else factor in cooking fuel when comparing the two, or am I overthinking this?
