My neighbor Linda talked me into trying canned beans and I was dead wrong about them

I always thought canned beans were mushy and tasted like metal, so I only bought dry ones. Linda was cooking black beans for tacos last week and she made me taste them straight from the can. She said "just rinse them good and they're fine for most stuff." I tried making my chili with them and saved like 2 hours of soaking and boiling. Has anyone else found a brand that doesn't get weird in soups?

Rinse them really well like Linda said, that gets rid of most of the metallic taste. I've had good luck with Bush's black beans and Goya pinto beans for soups, they hold their shape way better than the store brands. Just drain and rinse until the water runs clear and you'll be surprised how close they are to dry beans.
