Just realized my $3 spice blend was making everything taste like dirt
Last Thursday in my kitchen I was trying to stretch a bag of frozen chicken thighs for the week by making a cheap tikka marinade with a discount curry powder I grabbed at Aldi. Halfway through dinner my kid said it tasted like lawn clippings, and that's when I checked the sell-by date on the jar, it was from 2021. Anyone else ever wreck a whole meal with stale spices from the clearance rack, or do you just toss anything over a year old?
