I finally stopped buying pre-cut veggies after one bad week

Last month I spent $13 on a bag of pre-chopped onions that went slimy in 3 days, and that same week I got a whole 5-pound bag of onions for $3 that lasted two weeks. Now I just spend 10 minutes chopping on Sunday and freeze the extra, has anyone else ditched the convenience stuff after getting burned like that?
