Hot take: I was wasting money on fresh herbs for my pasta sauce
I used to buy a $4 pack of fresh basil every week for my Sunday sauce. Then my neighbor in Austin showed me her freezer, she had a whole ice cube tray of frozen pesto she made from her garden. I tried it with a $1 bunch of parsley from the market, blended it with oil and froze it. Now I just drop a cube in the pot. Anyone else have a cheap herb trick?

My buddy got really into drying his own mint from the yard. He just hangs it upside down in his garage for a week, then crumbles it into a jar. It works great for his tea and didn't cost him a thing.

Wait, a whole week in the garage? That seems way too long. I tried that once and all the dust and stuff in the air got on the leaves. It made my tea taste kinda weird, like musty. I dry mine inside on a rack for maybe three days tops. It keeps the flavor way fresher. Garage just seems like a bad spot for it.

A whole week in the garage like @dixon.daniel said... that just sounds like a dust and spider web recipe. My garage is full of sawdust from my work, and I can't imagine hanging food in there. Even a couple days would coat those mint leaves in grit. Inside on a rack is the only way, three days max like the other person said. Otherwise you're just brewing garage tea.
