Warning: I thought the dollar store drain snake was junk until it saved me $180
My kitchen sink in Toledo was backing up for 3 days and the plumber quoted me $180 just to come look at it, so I grabbed a $4 drain snake from the dollar store expecting it to snap in half. It took about 20 minutes of cranking and a lot of gross gunk, but that cheap coil cleared the clog and the sink has been running fine for 6 weeks now. Has anyone else had a cheap tool like that actually outlast the fancy version, or did I just get lucky this once?
