Switched from a digital planner app to a cheap paper notebook and my budget actually stuck for the first time

I spent like 6 months trying to use Mint and then YNAB free trial to track every dollar. Kept forgetting to log stuff or the app would be confusing. Picked up a $2 notebook from Walmart and a 50 cent pen. Writing stuff down manually made me actually think about what I was spending. Been 3 months now and I got my grocery bill down from $400 to $280 a month by just seeing it on paper. Anyone else find that low tech stuff works better for saving money?

Yeah seeing it in ink really makes you think twice.
