My buddy told me to freeze my bread and it saved me $40 a month

My friend Dave said last year that I was wasting money on bread going stale. He told me to just toss the whole loaf in the freezer and pull slices as needed. I thought he was crazy but tried it anyway. Now I buy the big 2-dollar loaves from the discount bakery and they last me three weeks instead of turning green after five days. Has anyone else tried freezing other stuff like tortillas or bagels?

I mean, is it really that deep? Like yeah, freezing bread works but you're acting like you discovered fire. You're saving $40 a month for real? That math seems a little generous unless you were throwing away like three loaves a week which honestly sounds like a you problem. I toss bread in the freezer too but mostly because I'm lazy and don't want to run to the store every few days. It's not some secret life hack, it's just common sense for people who don't eat a loaf in two sittings. My wife freezes bagels all the time and they come out fine if you toast them, but they're a little chewier than fresh. So yeah, do it if you want, but maybe don't act like you cracked the code to financial freedom with a bag of Wonderbread.
