Found a $4 fix for my leaky kitchen faucet after two plumbers quoted me $250
Three weeks ago my kitchen faucet started dripping nonstop, and the first plumber I called in Dayton quoted me $220 plus parts for a whole cartridge replacement. The second guy said $250 and told me I might as well get a new fixture. I got frustrated and watched a 6 minute video on replacing just the rubber O-ring, drove to the hardware store, and spent $3.97 on a pack of five. It took me 20 minutes with a wrench and needle nose pliers, and the drip stopped that same afternoon. Has anyone else had a plumber quote a whole replacement when it was really just one small worn part?
