Taping my trowel handle was a total hand saver
I used to finish each day with raw spots on my palms from the trowel. My old foreman would joke about using athletic tape on the handle. I brushed it off for ages, calling it a silly extra step. Last month on a big wall project, my hands got so tender I almost quit early. Out of options, I grabbed some tape and wrapped the handle tight. The soft layer under my grip felt weird at first but soon became normal. Now I do this before any big lay, and my hands stay smooth. I can keep my rhythm going without that sharp pain breaking my focus.

What tape did you use? Good tip, might try that.

I used the cheap stuff, but @morgan_butler40 is right, the real trick is just admitting you need it.

That line about "raw spots on my palms" hits home. There's a weird macho thing in trades where you're supposed to just tough out the pain, like it's a badge. It's why a simple fix like tape gets ignored for so long.
